Water ServiceThe piping of a house service line should be as short as possible. Elbows and bends should be kept to a minimum because they reduce water pressure and, therefore, the supply of water to fixtures in the house. The house service line also should be protected from freezing. Four feet of soil is a commonly accepted depth to bury the line to prevent freezing. This depth varies, however, across the country from north to south. The local or state plumbing code should be consulted for recommended depths. The minimum service line size should be inch. The minimum water supply pressure should be 40 pounds per square inch (psi), no cement or concrete joints should be allowed, no glue joints between different types of plastic should be allowed, and no female threaded PVC fittings should be used.

In homes without basements, the water lines are preferably located in the crawl space or under the slab. The water lines are sometimes placed in the attic; however, because of freezing, condensation, or leaks, this placement can result in major water damage to the home. In two-story or multistory homes, the water line placement for the second floor is typically between the studs and, then, for the shortest distance to the fixture, between the joists of the upper floors.

Frost-proof Faucets. Frost-proof faucets are installed outside a house with the shutoff valve extending into the heated house to prevent freezing. After each use, the water between the valve and outlet drains, provided the hose is disconnected, so water is not left to freeze.

Frost-proof Hydrants. Frost-proof hydrants make outdoor water service possible during cold weather without the danger of freezing. The shutoff valve is buried below the frost line. To avoid submerging it, which might result in contamination and back siphoning, the stop-and-waste valve must drain freely into a rock bed. These hydrants are sometimes prohibited by local or state health authorities.

In order to ensure proper temperature, you need to allow room for adequate airflow between the freezer and refrigerator compartments. Cool air enters and exits the refrigerator compartment from the freezer through vents located in both the refrigerator and freezer. Make sure there are no food items blocking these vents. See where your vents might be located.

Temperature controls are typically preset at the factory to the "mid setting," which should be correct for regular household use. The controls are set correctly when beverages are as cold as you would like. Setting the controls too low can cause the refrigerator to freeze food or run longer than it needs to. Learn more about how to get the correct temperature settings.

NOTE: EEOC investigators must take great care in situations involving both (a) the statutory rights of employees to be free from discrimination at work, and (b) the rights of employers under the First Amendment and RFRA. Although a resolution satisfactory to all may come from good faith on the part of the employer and employee through mutual efforts to reach a reasonable accommodation, on occasion the religious interests of the employer and employee may be in conflict. EEOC personnel should seek the advice of the EEOC Legal Counsel in such a situation, and on occasion the Legal Counsel may consult as needed with the U.S. Department of Justice.

While some employees believe that religion is intensely personal and private, others are open about sharing or outwardly expressing their religion. In addition, there are employees who may believe that they have a religious obligation to share their views and to try to persuade coworkers of the truth of their religious beliefs, i.e., to proselytize. Certain private employers, too, whether or not they are religious organizations, may wish to express their religious views and share their religion with their employees.[196] As noted above, however, some employees may perceive proselytizing or other religious expression as unwelcome based on their own religious beliefs and observances, or lack thereof. In an increasingly pluralistic society, the mix of divergent beliefs and practices can give rise to conflicts requiring employers to balance the rights of employers and employees who wish to express their religious beliefs with the rights of other employees to be free from religious harassment under the foregoing Title VII harassment standards.

Comment: Numerous organizational and Congressional commenters asserted that there was insufficient opportunity for stakeholder consultation and inadequate time allotted for Commissioner and public input. These commenters requested that the Commission withdraw rather than finalize the proposed guidance. Several commenters also expressed concerns with listening sessions that the General Counsel held and the commenters felt that they undermined the comment period.

Jewel in the Sand is not simply a beachfront Destin vacation home- its a venue! A very small percentage of vacation rentals shine as brightly as this eight bedroom mansion. She's always had the right DNA to special- a private pool with a grilling area, lounge chairs and a boardwalk to the beach; open gathering/entertainment areas on each of the four floors; four beachfront balconies and a large reception-ready kitchen hedged by two dining rooms- one with beach views and one for formal dining. Yet now, this gem of a rental sparkles even more brilliantly thanks to recent renovations.

Having the beach just steps away from your home was the best part, but having such an amazing home came in a close second. The home was extremely clean. The rooms were all a great size and having so many of them was perfect for us. The house is setup were the second floor is only used as a living space (kitchen, family room, dinning room, etc.). Having this type of setup was perfect. It allowed those that wanted to go to bed early or sleep late the chance to do that without hindering the rest of the group. If there was anything to say that we would have changed it would have been to have more cooking utensils and beach towels, but as you can read from above it did not hinder our stay. Overall things were great. We feel blessed to have had the chance to stay here.

We have 4 children and 10 grandchildren and this house was perfect for our family. Views and layout were wonderful. House was clean and in near pristine condition--e.g. no wear and tear on furniture, walls, or appliances. With the great view, comfortable eating locations, amply supply of beverages, we chose to eat every meal at the house--why fight lines and traffic when you can relax and eat overlooking the beach? The kitchen was very well stocked in terms of utensils, pots, stainless, etc. Two ovens worked great. (I liked the blender so much I went out and bought one when when I got home!) The house is equipped with washer and dryer which got a lot of use in our case and, while the beach was used every day, the extensive use of the pool by the grandchildren surprised us.Minor annoyances--1) plastic under bed sheets. We decided that this was a reasonable accommodation to guard against bed bugs. 2) no faucet outside dedicated to rinsing sandy feet. We used the outside shower which didn't do quite as good of a job to cleaning off feet. 3) ice maker produced about 2 trays worth of ice a day so one bag of ice was the order for every trip to the grocery. 4) Fourth floor AC unit is a bit undersized. We needed to cool the 3rd floor more than necessary to keep the 4th floor comfortable. 5) no pot holders. We used dish towels. 6) and we donated a new can opener. The Newman-Dailey staff were very pleasant and efficient--check-in and check-out were painless. Overall, a spectacular vacation that we hope to repeat again.

This is a diagram of radon movement indoors as well as outdoors. Because radon is a gas, it can move freely through the soil enabling it to escape to the atmosphere or seep into buildings. When radon escapes from the bedrock into the outdoor air, it is diluted to such low concentrations that it poses a negligible threat to health. However, if a building is built over bedrock or soil that contains uranium, radon gas can be released into the building through cracks in foundation walls and in floor slabs, construction joints, gaps around service pipes and support posts, floor drains and sumps, cavities inside walls, and the water supplies. When radon is confined to enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces, it can accumulate to high levels. Radon levels are generally highest in basements and crawl spaces because these areas are nearest to the source and are usually poorly ventilated.

Health Canada recommends that every homeowner test their home for radon through the placement of at least one long-term detector for a minimum of 3 months. Ideally, this testing period should be when indoor radon levels are highest. In Canada, this is typically during the heating season from October to April, when homeowners keep windows closed for extended periods of time, and the thermal stack effect (rising air currents due to buoyancy of air) that tends to draw in more radon gas from the soil is generally strongest. 2ff7e9595c
